DALLAS, Feb. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- (NYSE: AHC)  — A. H. Belo Corporation announced today that Eric J. Myers has been named president of Belo Media Group, the advertising sales and marketing services division of the company that includes The Dallas Morning News. Myers replaces Alison Draper, who has served in executive roles in various divisions of A. H. Belo since 2006.

In this role, Myers will report to Grant Moise, President and Publisher of The Dallas Morning News, and will work closely with fellow leaders on the executive team to continue the company's transformation to a digital-first media organization. His appointment is effective February 28, 2019.

Myers is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience. He was most recently with Cox Media Group, where he headed up advertising for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Prior to the 2017 sale of several properties by Cox, he was a multi-market vice president over newspaper and online advertising for Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Austin American-Statesman, Palm Beach Post, Dayton Daily News, Mundo Hispanico, Kudzu.com and smaller Cox-owned regional newspapers.

"I look forward to immersing myself in the booming business community here in North Texas and getting to know the leaders within the Dallas area," Myers said. "I am committed to continuing Alison Draper's legacy of building a strong, supportive sales culture for our team members while also building creative, innovative marketing solutions for our clients that deliver results. My goal is to create quality advertising products that match the quality of our journalism, ensuring we will be able to serve our readers and advertisers well into the future."

"Myers is bringing a unique set of skills to an important leadership position at the company," said Grant Moise, Publisher of The Dallas Morning News.

"Eric has demonstrated a track record of building and leading teams that are recognized as the preeminent advertising and marketing experts for the local audiences they serve. We are fortunate to have someone of his talent and experience coming to Dallas to lead our sales team," Moise said. "He is recognized in the industry as a thought leader in publishing and digital media. This uniquely positions him to be able to have an immediate impact as we evolve our business model to meet the needs of our advertising partners."

Myers has been with Cox Media Group since 2010. Prior to that, he worked in various advertising management positions at the St. Petersburg Times for 11 years. He has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

"I am proud of the advertising and marketing partnerships we have built during my tenure. Eric is the right person to continue that work and expand them to new creative levels," Draper said. "I leave confident that those relationships are in good hands."
