    Michael N. Lavey is currently serving as vice president/Controller for A. H. Belo Corporation, a position he has held since January 2010. He is responsible for A. H. Belo's accounting and reporting responsibilities.

    Lavey has more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience, and previously served as corporate controller and chief financial officer for both public and private companies. Prior to joining A. H. Belo, Lavey served as vice president/Finance and a member of the Senior Leadership Team at imc2, a privately-owned digital advertising agency. During his tenure at imc2, Lavey managed all financial functions within the company. Prior to joining imc2, Lavey served as an executive consultant for Alliance Data Systems in Dallas and specialized in Sarbanes-Oxley assessments and related matters. Prior to Alliance Data Systems, Lavey served as chief financial officer of Lighting Science Group Corporation, and held various senior finance and accounting positions at MetroPCS, Excel Communications/Vartec Telecom, BancTec and NAC. Lavey also spent 8 years in the audit practice of Arthur Andersen, where he focused on the technology and manufacturing sectors.

    Lavey received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1979 and is a Certified Public Accountant.

    Anna Nicodemus

      Anna Nicodemus is currently serving as vice president/Internal Audit for A. H. Belo Corporation, a position she has held since November 2007. Previously Nicodemus served as Belo Corp. vice president/Internal Audit from April 2005 until November 2007. In this role she manages A. H. Belo's enterprise-wide Internal Audit function. Her responsibilities include overseeing the department's independent reviews and evaluations of the Company's operations, controls, records, compliance and reporting functions. Nicodemus also provides audit review results and recommendations for senior management, the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, and the Company's external independent auditors.

      Nicodemus gained more than 19 years of in-depth audit management experience at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). Most recently, she served as audit director, managing field and headquarters-based audit professionals. Nicodemus' accomplishments include supporting the company's Sarbanes-Oxley program, streamlining internal quality reviews, functionally reorganizing audit teams, preparing quarterly reports for senior management and initiating a recognition program for outstanding team members. Her career progression at EDS included positions as audit manager, audit supervisor and audit team leader.

      Nicodemus graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in business and public management from the State University of New York. She is a certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and certified internal auditor. Her professional affiliations have included serving on the local board and the national board's Research and Education Advisory Committee for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), on the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management's Internal Auditing Advisory Board, and on the University of North Texas Internal Audit Advisory Board for the College of Business Administration.

      Daniel Blizzard

        Daniel J. Blizzard is Senior Vice President for A. H. Belo Corporation, a position he has held since November 2007. Previously, he served as vice president/Operations for Belo Corp. He has also served as executive vice president/Real Estate for Belo Investment Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Belo, since January 2007. He is responsible for public affairs, government relations, real estate, facilities planning, strategic sourcing and corporate services, reporting to Robert W. Decherd, A. H. Belo's chairman, president and chief executive officer.

        Blizzard joined Belo in May 1999 as director/procurement for the Company's flagship newspaper, The Dallas Morning News.

        A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Blizzard earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Texas. From 1988 until 1999 he served in several management roles in the area of supply chain management, including director of procurement for PrimeCo Personal Communications, vice president of materials for Span Instruments, and director of purchasing & material control and international logistics manager for Integral Corporation. Blizzard started his career in 1981 with Houston Lighting & Power Company serving in several procurement and contract administration roles.

        Blizzard is Chairman of the board of DowntownDallas and is a board member of the Downtown Connection Tax Increment Financing District, the Downtown Dallas Development Authority and the City Center Tax Increment Financing District. He is a member of the City Plan Commission Urban Design Advisory Committee and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Downtown Dallas Transit Study committee. He is former board chair of the Downtown Improvement District and a former board member of the Downtown Partnership and the D/FW Minority Business Council. He was an Ex-Officio member of the Inside the Loop Committee and a member of the support team for the Downtown Parks Master Plan Steering Committee and the Comprehensive CBD Transportation Study Steering Committee.

        Blizzard and his wife, Helaine, live in Dallas and have one child.

        Alison Engel

          Alison K. Engel
          Senior Vice President/Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

          Alison K. Engel, CPA, is senior vice president/Chief Financial Officer for A. H. Belo Corporation, a position she has held since November 2007. She is responsible for managing A. H. Belo's financial practices, including accounting, financial planning, treasury, tax, and investor relations. As part of these duties she supervises the Company's financial transactions, public filings, enterprise-wide adherence to compliance reporting standards, tax filings, and communications with investors and analysts. Engel also provides strategic support to the controllers at A. H. Belo's newspaper and interactive business units.

          Engel joined Belo Corp. in 2003 as director/Accounting operations. She served as corporate controller from February 2005 to December 2005 and as vice president/Corporate Controller from January 2006 to July 2008.

          Engel has more than 14 years of financial management experience at diversified multi-unit business organizations and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Engel's previous responsibilities have encompassed financial reporting and audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income statement analysis and SEC financial filings.

          Engel earned a Masters in Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a Certified Public Accountant, certified in Texas and is a member of the AICPA and TSCPA.
